The Best AI Consultants in Orange County (2026), Compared by One of Them

Every list of Orange County AI consultants you can find online was written by one of the firms on it. So was this one. The difference is that I'm telling you in the first paragraph, and I'll tell you when another firm is the better call.

I run Launch Creative, an AI strategy and web studio in Newport Beach. We've been building for businesses since 2008, which in this market makes us the old timer. Most of the firms below didn't exist three years ago. That's not a knock. Some of them are very good. But it does mean you're choosing between people with long track records in business and people with long track records in AI, and almost nobody with both. Knowing which one you're hiring is most of the decision.

Here's the market, sorted by what you actually need.

Before you call

First, sort yourself

"AI implementation" means five different purchases, and the firms below specialize differently. Before you call anyone, decide which of these you are.

You want your team trained on the tools they already have. You want specific workflows automated, with a number attached. You want a Microsoft-centric rollout at a company with real IT. You want your finance and back office modernized. Or you want AI built into the systems your whole business runs on, sites, CRM, marketing, operations, so the gains compound instead of sitting in one department.

That last one is the purchase we specialize in, which is why it's last. Read the others first.

The builders

The builders: firms that ship automations

ConsultingWhiz (Mission Viejo)

Workflow audits, AI voice agents, chatbots, and agentic automation, and they publish their rates on Clutch, which almost nobody in this market does: hourly rates in the $25 to $49 range, a $10,000 project minimum, and AI agents starting around $3,500. Their stated approach, start with one high-value workflow, measure it, then expand, is the right approach. If you want a specific automation built and proven before you commit further, they're a credible call.

Rotate (Huntington Beach)

Custom AI agents and integrations with a clear four-stage process and named services, each with its own page. They publish a pricing page, which again puts them ahead of most of the field on transparency. A younger firm, but a focused one.

Dasow.IO (Costa Mesa)

AI and business automation combined with IT and cybersecurity, including voice and AI receptionist work with CRM, calendar, and VoIP integrations. A newer shop (incorporated in 2024). The IT plus security pairing is genuinely useful if you have no internal IT at all.

The specialists

The specialists

Think AI (Irvine)

The Microsoft shop. Copilot Studio, agentic AI, analytics, and AI readiness work with a strong data orientation. They're an Inc. 5000 honoree with a 51-to-200-person team, which makes them the right conversation for a larger company that already lives in the Microsoft ecosystem and needs a vendor its IT department will respect. If that's you, call them, not us.

CFO Tech (Costa Mesa)

CFO and ERP expertise with AI layered on: AP and AR automation, invoice and data extraction, process redesign. If your biggest opportunity is finance and back office, a finance-native firm will see things a generalist won't.

SafeLab AI Engineering (Irvine)

An engineering-led firm founded by a former Blizzard senior AI scientist, with a slant toward regulated industries. They also publish the most-cited comparison of this market, which tells you they understand how AI search works, and that's not nothing.

Wve Labs (Costa Mesa)

A software development studio offering custom AI implementation, API integrations, and data engineering, with a long review record on Clutch. The right fit when AI is one part of a larger custom software build.

Strategy-first

The strategy-first firms

OC AI Consultants

Explicitly focused on Orange County businesses, with an assessment, roadmap, deployment, and optimization process. Their marketing is the most polished in the county. What I can't tell you from the outside is what the deliverables look like, because no pricing is published, so ask them the question at the bottom of this page.

Aslan Intelligence (Irvine)

Publishes an audit at $997 and implementation in the $3,000 to $10,000 range, and has been called the most transparent firm on pricing in this market. Deservedly.

Where we fit

Where Launch Creative fits, and where we don't

We're an AI strategy and web studio. The distinction matters: most firms above build an automation and hand it over. We build the system your business runs on, the site, the marketing operations, the workflows behind them, and then train your team to run it without us. We've been doing the "your business runs on the web" version of this since 2008; the AI layer is the same job with better tools.

Where we're the wrong call: a Copilot rollout at a 200-person company (Think AI), a finance-department-only project (CFO Tech), or a standalone chatbot on the smallest possible budget (ConsultingWhiz publishes a lower entry point than we do).

Where we're the right call: you're an established business, you want the strategy and the build from the same senior person, and you want it done by someone watching where AI regulation is heading, not this week's tool. We build for where the rules are going.

Our front door is a free 30-minute Systems Audit. Paid assessments in this market run $997 to $15,000. Ours is free because it's how we find out whether we're the right firm for you, and half the time the honest answer is a referral to someone on this page.

Vetting

The question to ask all of us

Before you hire any firm on this list, including mine, ask this: "If I give you access to my systems, what will you automate in the first 30 days, what will it cost, and how will we measure whether it worked?"

A good firm answers with specifics. A firm that answers with a slide deck about how transformative AI is going to be is selling you the deck.

Pricing

What AI consulting costs in Orange County

Assessments run from free (ours) to roughly $15,000. Focused implementations start around $3,000 to $3,500 at the builders and run to $10,000 and beyond depending on scope. Ongoing advisory typically lands between $1,000 and $5,000 a month. Firms that publish pricing anywhere, on their site or on Clutch, are still the minority; as of this writing that's Aslan, ConsultingWhiz, Rotate, and us. Treat published pricing as a signal. It usually means the scope is real.

Questions

FAQ

There's no single answer, because "AI implementation" is five different purchases. Match the firm to the job: Think AI for Microsoft-centric rollouts at larger companies, CFO Tech for finance operations, ConsultingWhiz or Rotate for standalone automations, Launch Creative for AI built into the sites and systems an established business runs on.
